Under The Sea

Campers get to explore what’s below 2/3rds of the earth’s surface. Major project for the week is an underwater diorama complete with coral, treasure chest, submarine and sea creatures of the depths either real or of their own imagination (all made with clay). On the outside of the diorama we focus on the top and create a beach scene complete with sand beach, floaties, swimming area with buoy line, bonfire, diving platform and beach umbrellas. A miniature LED string completes the diorama so it can be lit up at night. Other Projects through the week include a fish wind chime, paint your favourite sub aquatic species (dolphin, fish, shark, octopus or turtle) and make a star fish.

Into the Woods

Inspired by such classic tales as Hansel and Gretel, The Three Little Pigs and Little Red Riding Hood, this camp will focus on building a classic fairy tale forest scene complete with cabin in the woods. Like the 3 little pigs, the campers will have their choice of building material to construct their cabin (clay construction will be assisted for younger campers, and for those that want, with a gingerbread house mold). LED moon and stars will allow for night time illumination. This creation will only be limited by the imagination of the campers. Materials such as trees (twigs) will be collected during a nature walk on the nearby U of T Scarborough campus. A choice of ready-made pieces such as “little pigs”, “Hansel and Gretel” and “Little Red Riding Hood” will be painted and fired.

Sports/Olympics

Channel your little one’s inner athlete and their love of sports into creative arts and crafts. Your child can look forward to a gold medal performance from TCE this week.
Major project for the week will have campers making their own shadow box mounted with custom 3D clay jersey! The Jersey will have their preferred number, their name on the back, team colours and favourite logo (or one of their own creation) as well as their personal autograph!
Other Projects through the week include additional clay pieces to complete their shadow box and match their jersey such as medals, trophies and other sport related paraphernalia.
